Happy Monday (or whichever day you end up reading this)! It was really interesting to learn about copyright and how images on the Internet aren’t inherently ‘yours’ or free to use for whatever you please. I had to take a computer science course at UVIC during my undergrad, so I had some idea about copyright and what you can and cannot use on a blog (we made a website for our class, and I remember thinking that I didn’t need to learn how to make a website as a psychology student but now I’m here so I suppose it was useful!). I made this meme from the meme generator site Rylee showed me. We had a chat about copyright and attributions, I noticed on her post that she described the meme she made (pretty sure it was the hotline bling Drake meme) and it made me think of when we talked about Attributions in class.

What I was surprised to learn about was attributions and I’m still not 100% sure what it is but I do understand that we need to know where images came from, especially if it’s an image that isn’t your own.
I loved learning about Liveit.Earth! What an awesome research for parents, educators, and students to access! I especially liked the funghi page and all the activities that were in it; drawing different kinds of mushrooms to writing a creative story about them, it was fantastic to learn about!
I was a little apprehensive to try and make a screencast video but I’m glad I took Rylee’s advice to look over the video tutorial before starting (she ran into some issues and didn’t want the same for me, what a great classmate!). I wasn’t 100% sure if it needed to be specific to educational technologies in the classroom or based on our inquiry so I made it about a small sustainable fashion lesson; showing where people can learn the definition of sustainable fashion, as well as, have a resource they can use to discover which brands are sustainable and which are not. I’ll embed it here and on my blog post since it’s relevant and probably necessary for folks who have zero idea what I’m talking about over there.
